Cloud County Community College student, Melinda Sutton inducted into national honor society

Cloud County Community College held its spring induction ceremony for Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), an international honor society for two-year colleges. The ceremony was held February 28, at the college's Geary County campus.

Students from the Geary County Campus were inducted into the Beta Eta Xi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa. Dr. Peter Pellegrin inducted the students during a ceremony in the presence of family members and other special guests. Melinda Sutton, from Enterprise, KS is a Sophomore majoring in Nursing, and was inducted as a new member of Phi Theta Kappa.

College President Dr. Danette Toone welcomed the inductees and guests attending the PTK induction ceremony. Aaron Neely, Kansas Regional Vice President of Alumni Relations, and Dr. William Backlin, Vice President of Academic Affairs at CCCC, were the guest speakers.

Phi Theta Kappa, founded in 1918, recognizes and encourages academic achievement. PTK also provides opportunities for individual growth and development through leadership, scholarship, fellowship and service. Students who have completed at least 12 hours of transferrable credit while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5 are invited to join.
