Tanner Bowles is cast in CCCC fall play

2014 Sep 17

A Midsummer Night's Dream will be the fall 2014 drama department production. The play was written by William Shakespeare.

Tanner Bowles, a Physical Science major at Cloud County Community College, is a cast member in the fall play. Tanner is originally from Cawker City, KS and will play the part of Philostrate.

In William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, there are three interconnected plots. In the first, a pair of lovers, Hermia and Lysander, run into the forest to get married, pursued by Demetrius, who is in love with Hermia. Helena pursues Demetrius because she is in love with him. In the second, a group of "mechanicals" rehearse a play for the Duke's impending wedding. In the third, fairies battle over a changeling boy. The three plots intermix and intertwine as the fairies cause mischief and force everyone to fall in love with the wrong person. Included in this play are magic, humor, and more.

William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream can be seen November 6-8 at Cook Theatre on the Cloud County Community College campus, with the pre-show starting at 7:00 and a 7:30 p.m. curtain. Tickets are $5 and CCCC students are admitted free of charge.

The play will be directed by Stephanie Tschetter, CCCC instructor of English, Speech, and Theatre.
